E’Twaun Donte Moore is a professional basketball player who is currently playing for the Orlando Magic as the team’s shooting and point guard. Moore was born in East Chicago, where he spent most of his childhood. He was also a varsity player for Central High School and recorded an average of 21.2 points with 5.5 rebounds per game. Alongside Angel Garcia and Carolina Panther Kawann Short, they led the team to win the 2007 Indiana High School Athletic Association 4A State Championship against Indianapolis North Central High School. He was also chosen to become 2007 Indiana Mr. Basketball.
Recruitment and College Life
Because Moore is a prolific basketball player, he earned the 8th spot for the high school basketball shooting guard by Scout.com. He was also named as the 2nd best player in Indiana and 35th in the US. Due to his performance, he had received offers from different universities however, he pursued Purdue University under Matt Painter.

Moore’s college life was productive and fruitful, as he was hailed Big Ten Player of the Week when he helped the team win against the Iowa Hawkeyes and Illinois Fighting Illini. He also made history when he broke the record as the first freshman to break the record with the most three-point field goals of 66 points. During his sophomore year, he was the team’s lead scorer and 3d in rebounds. He also participated in the 2008 NIT Season Tip-Off, where he won second place in the 16-team field.
At the start of his junior season, he became a candidate for the John R. Wooden Award because of his previous performances. He was also hailed 2009 Paradise Jam Tournament MVP and included in the District 5 First Team Academic All-District Team.
Professional NBA Career
Moore decided to join the 2011 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the 55th overall by the Boston Celtics. It was months after he was guaranteed a spot to the Celtics, and he debuted on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks. By the following month, they matched against the Orlando Magic, and Moore established a career-high 16 contribution to the team.
In 2012, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, but his contract was waived, so he signed with the Orlando Magic instead. Since two of their key players were injured, Moore became a starter for this season. He even contributed 17 points against the Chicago Bulls. However, things didn’t go as planned when he was injured with an elbow sprain when he and Cartier Martin had an accidental encounter.
In 2014, he transferred to the Chicago Bulls to lead the game after his teammates Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson, and Jimmy Butler were injured at the same time. After his 2-year contract, he decided to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans.
As of now, he returned to the Orlando Magic and played with them since September 2021.
