He and his family are devout Christians. Christopher is the youngest of four kids. His older brothers have played basketball be it professionally or in college.

Patrick Christopher played for the Utah Jazz. His sister, Paris Christopher, played in college for Saint Mary’s, and his other brother Caleb Christopher plays college basketball for Arizona State University.

Josh is also the god-brother of Tayshaun Prince who played for the NBA.

High School and College Career

He attended Mayfair High School where he averaged 25.9 points per game when he was a sophomore.

As a senior, he helped his team reach the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinal. In 2020, he was named to the McDonald’s All-American team. He also played in the Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic for that year.

He was rated as a 5-star recruit for college. He received a number of offers before he announced that he had signed with Arizona State University. He is noted for being one of Arizona’s highest-rated recruits.

Their first five-star recruit since James Harden, whom they recruited in 2007.

Professional Career

In March 2021, he declared himself for that year’s NBA Draft.

He was selected by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. He was their 24th overall draft. He signed a contract with them in August of the same year.

He played for Houston from 2021 to 2023. From 2021 to 2022, he also started playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League.

In 2022, he helped his G League team win the NBA G League Championships. In 2023, he signed with the Salt Lake City Stars, and in 2024, he started playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
