Juan Anderson-Toscano is an American professional basketball player. He stands 6 feet and 6 inches tall and his listed weight is 190lbs. He is from California and as September 2021, he plays for the Golden State Warriors. Anderson attended the Castro Valley High School and he attended Marquette University where he played for the Marquette Golden Eagles. Anderson is a two-time LNBP Champion and in 2018, he was named as the LNBP’s Most Valuable Player. He has played for the Liga Nacional Baloncesto Professional, the Mexican national basketball league. Teams he has played for include the Soles de Mexicali, the Bucaneros de La Guaira, Fuerza Regia, the Santa Cruz Warriors, and the Golden State Warriors.
Anderson was born Juan Toscano-Anderson in Oakland, California on April 10, 1993. His dad is African American descent and his mother is Mexican American. He grew up speaking Spanish and was immersed in Mexican American culture from a young age. He attended the Castro Valley High School where he played for the basketball varsity team. His presence helped lead the team to a number of victories. This led him to be named by Rivals.com as the 61st among the 2011 recruits.
In 2011, he began attending Marquette University. He had a stellar career with the team and he achieved a number of then career highs. Anderson stayed four years with Marquette. He declared for the 2015 NBA Draft, but went undrafted. Following this, he signed up with the Soles de Mexicali and this began his professional basketball career with the Liga Nacional Baloncesto Professional (LNBP). He made his debut on the LNBP court with the Bucaneros de La Guaira. For his first game with the team, he scored 15 points and three rebounds. For his second professional season, Anderson was said to have signed with the Feurza Regia de Monterey. He played with them from 2016 to 2018.
Anderson joined a training camp for the Santa Cruz Warriors in October 2018. He was later included in the team roster. He was also included in their 2019-2020 season. In 2020, he signed a three-year deal with the Golden State Warriors and in February 2020, he made a then NBA career high of 16 points in a game against the Pelicans.
In addition to playing for the LNBP and the NBA, Anderson also played for the Mexican National Basketball team. He played for them at the qualifying game for the 2016 FIBA.
