Kuminga first played for Huntington Prep in West Virginia. He later transferred to Our Savior New American where he earned MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year Honors. He later transferred to The Patrick School for his junior season.
Professional Career
In 2020, he announced that he was reclassifying and would be joining the NBA G League team over offers from colleges. He joined the NBA G League Ignite in 2020 and signed a one-year contract with the team. He made his debut for them in February 2021.
In the 2021 NBA Draft, Kumiga was picked by the Golden State Warriors in the first round. He signed with the team in August 2021 and he debuted in October of the same year. In February 2022, he played in the Rising Stars Challenge Game during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend.
He became an NBA Champion in his rookie year after the Golden State Warriors won against the Boston Celtics.
