Alex Caruso is an American NBA player for the Chicago Bulls. When Caruso was a high school student, he attended A&M Consolidated High School in his hometown, College Town, Texas. At that time, he was playing basketball under the coachmanship of Rusty Segler and Rick German. During his senior year, he recorded an average of 18 points with 9 rebounds. He was then declared TABC All-Regional, All-State, and District MVP for leading his team to win to the postseason.

Caruso attended Texas A&M Aggies when he got into college, and has played 137 games with an average score of 8.0 points with 2.02 steals and 4.7 assists in his entire four-year stay with the team. Because of his impressive record, he earned second-team All-SEC honors and All-Defensive Team.

Right after he was drafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers, yet he decided to sign with the Oklahoma Thunders after the 2016 NBA Summer League. However, in 2017, he joined the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2017 NBA Summer League. His games were fairly productive, and he also led the LA Lakers to victory when he replaced the injured Lonzo Ball.

Afterward, Caruso signed a two-way contract which granted him to play directly to the D-League. He also played a major role as he assists the team to win in the 2017 NBA Summer League Championship. In October 2017, Caruso debuted as an official member of the LA Lakers, and they were against the Los Angeles Clippers. During the match, he recorded 2 points with 1 rebound and 2 assists in 12 minutes of playtime.

In 2018, he signed another 2-way contract and he participated in the 2018 NBA Summer League. In 2019, he recorded a career-high 15 points, yet resulted in a loss to the Denver Nuggets. In April 2019, he scored another career-high record of 32 points and became the only Laker player to get 30+ points with over 5 assists and 10 rebounds. In July 2019, he signed a contract extension of 2 years’ worth $5.5 million.

After the LA Lakers clinched the NBA Final Championship, Caruso decided that he would become a free agent. In 2021, he decided to sign with the Chicago Bulls.
