The Nigerian professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association is Precious Ezinna Achiuwa. He played for Memphis Tigers college basketball, graduated high school in Montverde Academy, Florida, and was a five-star consensus prospect and all-American McDonald’s.

In 8th grade, after he came to the United States, he began focusing on basketball. Achiuwa played basketball at Our Saviour’s Lutheran School in The Bronx, New York as a high school freshman. He attended Preparatory School St. Benedict’s in Newark, New Jersey, for his next two years. The school had a national basketball classification. He was a teammate with other recruits of NCAA Division I. Achiuwa had an average of 18.5 points in his junior season, 10.5 rebounds, 2,9 blocks, and 2.2 stones each, bringing his team to a record of 28–2. He’s been called to the second roster of MaxPreps Junior Junior.

Achiuwa moved to Montverde Academy at his senior year, a preparatory school in Montverde, Florida, which retained No. 1 in the previous season, with a competitive basic basketball program. With 14 points and a 7.2 rebound per match, he led Montverde and helped his team get in the GEICO semi-finals. Achiuwa, under the leadership of coach Penny Hardaway, engaged on May 17, 2016, to play Memphis college basketball. He has joined Lester Quinones, a teammate of his former Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and James Wiseman, 2019’s number one player.

Achiuwa had 14 points and eight rebounds in his Memphis debut as the Tigers beat South Carolina State 97–64. In the 87–86 victory over Ole Miss on November 23, Achiwa scored 25 points season-high. On November 25, he was named player of the American Athletic Conference. After scoring 20 points and nine rebounds in 77-49 victories over Jackson State, he won a week’s conference freshman on December 23. Achiuwa had been named AAC Player and Freshman of the Year at the end of the regular season. He got 15.8, 10.8, and 1.9 blocks on average as a newcomer. After his new season, he announced the 2020 NBA draft. In the 2020 NBA Draft Miami Heat, Achiuwa was chosen with the 20th selection and signed the Heat on November 25.
