Eddie Charles Jones is an American former professional basketball player playing. He was born on October 20, 1971 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Eddie weighs 200 lb and is 6 ft 6 inches in height.
Eddie completed his high school from the Blanche Ely High School and pursued his further education from the Temple University, Florida. From this University he participated in college basketball along with Aaron McKie the future NBA player and guard.
The Los Angeles Lakers chose him in the 1994 NBA draft in the 10th overall spot. During his rookie season his average was 2.05 spg and 14 ppg in 64 games. Eddie won the Most Valuable Player in the All-Star weekend Rookie Challenge in 1994-95. He recorded a game-high of 4 rebounds, 6 steals and 25 points.
In 1999 Eddie was selected by the Charlotte Hornets. He posted one of the best statistics of his career by achieving an average season record of 4.8 rpg, 4.2 apg, 2.7 spg and 20.1 ppg. After completing one season with the Hornets Eddie he was traded to the Miami Heat in the year 2000.
In the playoffs in the 2002-03 season he had an average of 18.5 ppg which was his best with Miami. In the year 2007, due to his descending performance compared to the past years he was further traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. After a year with the Grizzlies he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks for a minimum contract of 2 years.
Eddie earned the award of 3-time NBA All-Star in 1997, 1998 and in 2000. He won the All-NBA twice and the Defensive Second Team thrice. In 1994-1995, he won the Rookie challenge MVP award.
