Jewell Loyd is an American professional basketball player in the WNBA. She is a 2018 World Cup gold medalist and a WNBA Champion. She currently plays in the point guard or shooting guard position for the Seattle Storm.

In the 2015 WNBA Draft, Loyd was drafted first overall by the Seattle Storm where she was placed in a point guard position. When Sue Bird had to sit out on games to rest, Loyd became the starting point guard. Her excellent performance got her named as the Rookie of the Year.

She became a star player in the 2016 Season and recorded a career-high 32 points. Her offensive scoring statistics steadily increased into the next season and she had an average of 17.7 ppg. Loyd was named to the WNBA All-Star Game in 2018 and she recorded an average of 15.5 ppg. The Storm also won their first championship in 8 years in the 2018 Season by defeating the Washington Mystics.
