Eric Bledsoe is a professional American basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers. He has also played for other NBA teams including the Phoenix Suns. In 2019, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team. The following year, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

High School and College Career

He attended Parker High School in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. When he was a senior, he was considered one of the country’s top recruits, receiving a number of scholarship offers. Bledsoe committed to play college basketball for the University of Kentucky. He would play with the school from 2009 to 2010.

While in college, he was named to the 2010 All-Rookie Team.

Professional Career

He declared for the NBA in 2010 and joined the 2010 NBA Draft. A first-round pick, he was the 18th choice and was drafted into the league by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder later traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers. In his first year in the NBA, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

In 2013, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns and he played with the team through to 2017, when he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks after he tweeted “I don’t wanna be here”. While with the Bucks, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2019 and the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2020.

In November 2020, the Bucks traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans. In August 2021, he returned to the Clippers following a trade. In February 2022, he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers but the team waived him in July 2022.
