Marquis Daniels is perhaps the most important Celtics player other than Kevin Garnett. Daniels can play and defend three different positions, and is also a very basketball smart player.
Daniels was an excellent addition on the summer by Celtics general manager Danny Ainge. After Marquis got hurt in the beginning of the year, the Celtics defense got pregressively worse. Kevin Garnett’s absence was not the only reason for the Celtics’ defensive woes.
When Daniels comes back, he will be someone to take defensie pressure of Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. His job is similar to that of Ron Artest in Los Angeles. Daniels will guard the opposing team’s best player, allowing Allen and Pierce to be more concerned about their offense.
