The Boston Celtics are reportedly among the front-runners to sign former MVP Kevin Durant following his trade request from the Brooklyn Nets.

The 33-year-old 12-time NBA All-Star handed in a trade request to the Nets three weeks ago, with plenty of speculation about a destination since.

The Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors have all been linked with Durant along with the Celtics.

ESPN reports that Boston could use Jaylen Brown as part of a deal to convince the Nets, although that’s a long way from transpiring.

The Celtics were beaten by the Golden State Warriors in last season’s NBA Finals.

Boston have since added guard Malcolm Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers, along with Italian forward Danilo Gallinari from the San Antonio Spurs.

Durant has four years left on his Nets contract but handed in his trade request on June 30, coming after their clean sweep playoffs exit to the Celtics.

Brooklyn also saw James Harden exit for the Philadelphia 76ers in February in a trade deal that landed Ben Simmons who didnt play last season.

Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game last season.
