The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their three-game losing run even without LeBron James as they triumphed 93-89 over the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Anthony Davis continued to re-discover his form after injury, with 25 points, seven assists and a crucial late block for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Marc Gasol made a strong contribution off the bench with seven rebounds and 10 points, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 10 points and seven boards too.

The Lakers had lost six of their previous seven games and were without LeBron James due to ankle soreness and Dennis Schroder who was exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.

The result gets the Lakers back in the mix for a strong playoffs seeding, moving up to fifth in the Western Conference and a 37-28 record.

The Utah Jazz returned to top spot in the West with a 110-99 win over the San Antonio Spurs, led by Bojan Bogdanovic with 25 points.

Rudy Gobert was exceptional in the paint with 24 points and 15 rebounds for the Jazz, who moved ahead of the Phoenix Suns.

The Philadelphia 76ers continue to dominate in the East with a 106-94 win over the Chicago Bulls, while the New York Knicks won 118-104 over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Russell Westbrook produced a record-breaking display with a stunning haul of 24 assists, 21 rebounds and 14 points for the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards won 154-141 over the Indiana Pacers, with Westbrook’s triple-double moving him within three of Oscar Robertson’s all-time record.

Stephen Curry scored 41 points as the Golden State Warriors boosted their playoffs aspirations with a 123-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
