Lakers Win Again Without LeBron & Davis
Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma (0) dunks past Orlando Magic forward James Ennis III (11) during the second half of an NBA basketball game

The Los Angeles Lakers have made it two wins in a row without LeBron James, downing the Orlando Magic 96-93 in Sunday’s NBA action.

Only four matches were played on Sunday, with the LA Lakers being the main attraction as they continue to adjust without their MVP star James, who is currently out with an ankle sprain.

German guard Dennis Schroder stepped up with 24 points, five rebounds and six assists, while Kyle Kuzma had 21 points and 11 boards, while Montrezl Harrell impressed off the bench with 18 points and 11 rebounds from 28 minutes on court.

It wasn’t easy going for the Lakers, though, with the Magic almost forcing over-time when Otto Porter Jnr’s three-point shot on the buzzer rimmed out.

The Lakers improve to a record of 30-17, with staying right among the seedings for the playoffs crucial while they’re without James and Anthony Davis.

Elsewhere, the Portland Trail Blazers claimed another impressive win, triumphing 122-117 over the Toronto Raptors.

Guard Damian Lillard had 22 points and 11 assists, while CJ McCollum scored 23 points with seven rebounds and five assists for the Blazers.

The Raptors, who were without Kyle Lowry, saw Pascal Siakam scored 26, while Fred VanVleet contributed 20 points, eight assists and five rebounds.

Portland are 28-18 in the West, with the Raptors slipping to 18-28.

Devin Booker scored 35 points while Deandre Ayton pulled down 14 boards as the Phoenix Suns claimed a 101-97 win over the Charlotte Hornets, who are without LaMelo Ball.

The Denver Nuggets defeated the in-form Atlanta Hawks 126-102 in the other game, with Nikola Jogic getting another double-double.
