Andre Iguodala Trade Talks Are at a Standstill

It seems that Andre Iguodala will be staying a little bit longer in Memphis than what was originally planned. This comes after the Grizzlies continue to discuss matters with the 35-year-old and his agents, in order to arrive at a deal that both parties would be happy with.

According to reports, the Rockets and the Clippers are still the strongest contenders. However, it seems that talks have come at a standstill at the moment. Plus, Denver and Dallas also somewhat entered the picture as well. The future, however, is hazy as to how the deal unfolds.

So far, Iguodala has around $17.2M left as well as one-year to play in his contract. For Houston, acquiring the 35-year-old would ultimately be problematic due to some issues with the taxpaying team. As it is, the franchise does not really seem keen on paying additional tax just to bring in Iguodala.

On the other side, the Clippers are not really interested in giving up Moe Harkless in exchange for Iguodala. Unfortunately, only Harkless is trade-eligible on the team, who somewhat fits Iguodala’s salary. So that side also has its own issues.

Each franchise has explored the idea of bringing in a third team to help with the facilitation of the deal. Hopefully, the Grizzlies would be able to work out an agreement with the other teams. However, there are also rumors coming out that Memphis actually would be okay to keep Iguodala on their roster for a little while longer.
