The Golden State Warriors are facing a possible elimination come Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Many have wondered if Kevin Durant will be able to come back after the strained calf injury that he had during the second round.
The truth is that the severity of his injury was never really released, making it a challenge to determine whether or not he will be able to make a comeback and save the Warriors. It was, in fact, on Sunday that he was able to make his first appearance during practice together with his teammates. While many expected that he would play in Game 4, most did not understand why he has not come back – while other injured players actually did.
According to reports, Durant is now considered as questionable for Game 5, which will be held on Monday night.
Steve Kerr informed that Durant will be getting some extra work with some of the younger players. From there, they will determine if he is ready to go or not.
While Durant is considered an elite scorer, there are concerns whether or not he is already rusty or not. If he is, then how much time would it take for him to recover or shake off the rust, and become a game changer to the NBA Finals. That way, there would be some consistent scoring that would be a supplement to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
It is highly likely that Pascal Siakam or Kawhi Leonard will be tasked to defend Durant, should he be allowed to play.
