The batter, or most commonly known as the team’s hitter, is a technical term in Baseball to describe a player whose sole responsibility is to do offensive play for the team. The batter has 3 goals to score for the team: to become a baserunner, to advance from one base to another, and to drive to the home base. The techniques that they’re using varies depending on his roles for the moment. Hitting should be his specialty, and he has to master the horizontal hitting movement rather than the vertical movement.

The team’s batter should be aggressive in their gameplay, especially in the first part of the game. He has to effectively swing his bat and work the pitch count. Moreover, he has to be observant of how the other team’s pitcher is throwing the ball towards them so that he can accurately calculate the ball’s velocity. Power batters can strike effectively when they lay off borderline strikes so they can generate for extra bases.

Every baseball player is doing their warm-up routine according to their roles in the team. As for the batters, they are more focused on how to grip and swing the baseball bat and acquiring the correct mindset in hitting the ball.
