Fly Ball

In baseball, hits are described by the ball’s trajectory or path. A fly ball is type of a batted ball that is hit high in the air. The players that attempt to catch these balls as they descent are called fielders. It is one of three descriptive categories of balls hit by a bat while in play. It usually follows a high arc towards the outfield.
