The Rochester, New York based Rochester Red Wings team is the oldest and longest running minor league franchise in the history of professional sports. It plays in the International League and is the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

After being an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals for 32 years from 1929 to 1960, the team switched to Baltimore Orioles for another 42 years before finally settling with the Minnesota Twins in 2003.

Some notable players from the Red Wings are Joe Altobelli also called Mr. Baseball, Luke Easter and Morrie Silver.

The Red Wings currently stand fourth in the Northern Division of the International League with 45 wins.

Major Achievements

The Red Wings are among the only 2 franchises in North American professional sports to have won a league championship in every decade of the 20th century.

The Red Wings have been the Governors’ Cup, International League Champions for a record 10 times out of another record 21 times they have played.
