Venezuela national baseball team is currently ranked 11th in the IBAF world baseball rankings. The team is controlled by the Federación Venezolana de Béisbol and is a member of the COPABE.

Pan American Games

Venezuela have participated in the Pan American games trice in 1955, 1959 and 1975, with 2 bronze medals in 1955 and 1975, while they won a gold in the 1959 games.

Intercontinental Cup

Being qualifies only twice in 1977 and 2002, Venezuela’s best finish was a 6th place in the 2002 games.

World Baseball Classic

The team Venezuela sent to the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classic included Venezuelan players from Major League Baseball.Venezuela competed in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, playing its opening games in Pool C, in Toronto. The Venezuelans secured advancement out of Pool C with a pair of resounding wins over Italy. Along the way, Venezuela also lost a 15-6 slugfest against the United States.

Baseball World Cup

Venezuela’s notable achievements have been in the World Cup, winning 3 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. The team’s lowest performance only came in the year 1990 when they finished 12th.
