Panama national baseball team is presently ranked 12th in the IBAF world baseball rankings. It is controlled by the Federación Panameña de Béisbol Aficionado and is a member of the COPABE.
Although Panama has not won a single major international tournament, they have won medals in the Baseball World Cup and Pan American Games.

Panama’s players include several minor and major leaguers including Bruce Chen, Manuel Corpas, Carlos Ruiz, Carlos Lee and Ruben Rivera.
World Baseball Classic
Having participated in the 2006 World Baseball Classic, Panama failed to secure a second round berth due to first round consecutive defeats from Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Netherlands.
Panama also competed in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, but again failed to impress in the first round suffering heavy defeats from Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Panama finished 15th without scoring a single run.
