Darwin Barney is a professional baseball player from the United States of America and plays as a shortstop. A student at the Southridge High School, Barney led the team to its first ever State Championships in 2003.

Barney attended the Oregon State University and with their baseball team, played two consecutive NCAA Division I Baseball Championships in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Barney was named to the All-Tournament team. In 2005, he was named as the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and also earned a place in the Freshman All-American team.

A year later, he was picked by Team USA to play at the World University Championships. In the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft, the Chicago Cubs picked him at 127th overall. Since then, he has spent the entire time playing in the minors.
