Domingo Leyba is a professional baseball player for the Dominican Republic. He played in the Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Baltimore Orioles. He is currently signed with the San Diego Padres.

Career

In December 2014, he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks alongside Robbie Ray. He spent more time in the minors and played for the Mobile Baybears. In 2016, the Diamondbacks added him to their 40-man roster.

It wasn’t until 2019 that he debuted in the Majors in a game against the San Francisco Giants.

He was suspended in early 2020 when he tested positive for a banned drug. In addition to the COVID-19 shortened season, he did not appear in any games that year. In June 2021, he was listed as Designated for Assignment.

In June 2021, the Baltimore Orioles claimed Leyba off waivers. In August of that year, he was listed as designated for assignment. After he cleared waivers, he was released by the Orioles.

In September 2021, he signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. In December 2021, he became a free agent and signed with the San Diego Padres.
