Domingo Leyba is a professional baseball player for the Dominican Republic. He played in the Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Baltimore Orioles. He is currently signed with the San Diego Padres.
Leyba is nicknamed Junior. His full name is Domingo Junior Leyba Santana. He was born on September 11, 1995, in his hometown of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He stands 180 cm tall and his last listed weight is 92 kilograms. He is a right-handed player and throws with his right hand. However, the bats with both hands.
Leyba was signed by the Detroit Tigers in 2012 and he debuted as a professional player with the Dominican Summer League Tigers. He stayed with the Tigers through to 2014 and played for other teams including the Connecticut Tigers.

In December 2014, he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks alongside Robbie Ray. He spent more time in the minors and played for the Mobile Baybears. In 2016, the Diamondbacks added him to their 40-man roster.
It wasn’t until 2019 that he debuted in the Majors in a game against the San Francisco Giants.
He was suspended in early 2020 when he tested positive for a banned drug. In addition to the COVID-19 shortened season, he did not appear in any games that year. In June 2021, he was listed as Designated for Assignment.
In June 2021, the Baltimore Orioles claimed Leyba off waivers. In August of that year, he was listed as designated for assignment. After he cleared waivers, he was released by the Orioles.
In September 2021, he signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. In December 2021, he became a free agent and signed with the San Diego Padres.
