*Justin Barnett Christian’ was born on April 3, 1980 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is a left fielder for the New York Yankees. CollegeJustin attended Skyline Junior College for two years, then earned a scholarship to Auburn University. However, he missed most of the 2002 season with a torn labrum, and transfered to Southern Missouri University where he became an All-American and was voted “Newcomer of the Year.” *Independent Leagues’Justin was not taken in the 2003 Major League Draft and he signed with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League. He won the starting second baseman job and played in both the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

The Yankees then signed him, and sent him to the GCL Yankees and the Staten Island Yankees.

He started the 2005 season with the Charleston RiverDogs where he hit .290. He was promoted to the Tampa Yankees where he hit .306.
