John Danks is a former professional baseball player of the Major League Baseball. The last team he played for was with the Chicago White Sox for the MLB and the Atlanta Braves for the Minor League. Danks was born in Austin, Texas, and attended Round Rock High School, which he was named as the co-central Texas player of the year. He participated in the 2003 MLB Draft. Though selected by the Texas Rangers, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox.

Danks is the son of Renee and John Danks Sr. and has a brother who plays as an outfielder in the White Sox in 2012-2014. When he was young, Danks was already in love with baseball, so he pursued baseball when he was schooling at the Round Rock High School. Currently, Danks is married to a country music singer named Ashley Monroe and has a son named Dalton William Danks.

Professional Career

When Danks was traded for the White Sox alongside Nick Masset and Jacob Rasner. During his first year with the Sox, he finished the year with a 5.5 ERA record. By the following year, he finished the season with a 3.32 ERA.

One of Danks’ stellar performances is during the 2008-09 season where he finished the season with a record of 13-11 with a 3.77 ERA. In 2011, he decided to sign with the team for another five-year contract with the White Sox. However, when his contract almost ended in 2015, he has the worst record of 7-15 records, by which he completed the season with a 7.25 ERA. In 2016, he joined a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves, but the team released him in March 2017.
