High SchoolJuan graduated from CBTIS 43 High School in Los Mochis, in 1990.
Major LeaguesJuan made his Major League debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers on September 2, 1995.
He played for the Dodgers through the 1999 season, then was traded to the Cincinatti Reds, where he played from 2000 to 2004.
In 2005, he was signed by the Minnesota Twins as a backup to rookie shortstop Jason Bartlett.
On June 15, 2006, he was traded back to the Cincinnati Reds for minor league outfielder Brandon Roberts.
On April 21, 2008, he was designated for assignment by the Reds, and became a free agent on May 2, 2008. He played for a time with the Colorado Rockies’ AAA affiliate, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, then was traded to the Baltimore Orioles on July 19, 2008, and was immediately added to their major league roster.
