*‘Wednesday, August 13, 2008 – * It wasn’t quite the slug fest tonight that it was yesterday, but the Boston Red Sox managed to pull out the win against the Texas Rangers, 8-4.

The Red Sox are now at 70-51, but they are in just a bit of trouble right now. Third baseman Mike Lowell was put on the 15-day disabled list yesterday, after tweaking an oblique in his side. That means Kevin Youkilis will be playing at third and Sean Casey will be getting a lot of time at first base.

Jacoby Ellsbury was on the bench for the second straight day, with Coco Crisp starting in center.

The Red Sox took the lead in the 2nd inning in this game, 2 runs scored on what were really miscues by the Texas Rangers defense.

The third inning was the big one, with a pair of doubles from Kevin Youkilis and Jason Bay each scoring 2.

The Rangers made it interesting in the 8th inning, when Ian Kinsler hit a home run off Jon Lester, and Red Sox reliever Mike Timlin gave up a 3-run homerun to Milton Bradley. But that was it for Rangers scoring.
