New York Islanders

The New York Islanders is the second hockey team from the New York Metropolitan Area. While the Rangers are based on Manhattan, the Islanders have their home base out on Long Island.

The Islanders franchise was founded in 1972 and rapidly developed into a very strong team that went on to win four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 80s.

Like the Rangers, the Islanders play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The team's home arena is called the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and seats 16,234.
