The Chicago Condors was an American Basketball League (ABL) team, based in Chicago, Illinois. They played at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion. Their coach was Jim Cleamons.
The American Basketball League ran from 1996 through 1998, beginning one year earlier than the rival WNBA league.
The Chicago Condors were an expansion teasm, formed in 1998.
In the ABL expansion draft leading up to the team's first season, the Condors selected Tausha Mills, Ashley Berggren, Ryneldi Becenti, Cathy Boswell, E.C. Hill, Anita Kaplan, Dana Wilkerson, they later added Joanne McCarthy and Beverly Williams to their roster.
Only 12 games into their first season, however (with a 4-8 record) the team folded, when on December 22, 1998, the ABL declared bankruptcy.
