Like many other teams, the Munchi's Ford Rally Team is also based out of Cumbria, England. In only its second year of rallying, the team is named after an extremely popular chain of ice-cream parlours in Argentina. The team drivers Luis-Perez Companc and Federico Villagra are two of the drivers who are part of a much varied lineup that features behind the wheels of their Ford Focus RS, throughout the season.

Villagra will contest all 10 rounds that the team will participate in whereas Companc will share the driving duties with other drivers who are yet to be named.

Companc and Villagra have been successful in their home country of Argentina and were probably the least experienced drivers in 2007. Their objectives have been merely to learn and observe the finer nuances of driving while enabling the team to familiarize themselves with the rallies in the series. The team has tried to up the tempo as they have gone along in their season of acclimatization.

Rally Japan saw the best finish for the Munchi's Rally team as the duo of Companc and Villagra finished at fifth and seventh spot respectively. These were their best finishes to date. Companc had narrowly missed out on making the fourth place in a race that gave a tremendous boost to the team's prospects and research.

The team just won 14 manufacturers' points in 2007 and clearly, their realistic objective for the 2008 season would be to increase their points' tally. They have gained a significant amount of experience from their sojourn last season and the Ford Focus WRC06 seems to be quite competitive. Although it might be some time before the one-year old team can challenge the likes of Citroen, Ford and Subaru at the head of the field, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see them notch up some really serious timings amongst the top ten, this season. The Munchi's team has the capability of throwing some good punches and at their home race, in Argentina, they might just pull a rabbit out of the hat.
