The Atlanta Thrashers is an NHL-team which plays in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.

The Thrashers was founded in 1999 and replaced the former team Atlanta Flames which moved to Calgary in 1980.

The home arena is the Philips Arena with a capacity of 18,545. The arena opened in 1999 and is shared with NBA team Atlanta Hawks.

The Thrashers won the Southeast Division in 2006/07, their best result in the NHL so far, but lost to the NY Rangers 0-4 in the playoff quarterfinals.
