The Bruins was the first American team in the NHL, and was founded in 1924.

The team belongs to the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference. The home arena is shared with the NBA team Boston Celtics and is called the TD Banknorth Garden (formerly Boston Garden).

Boston Bruins have won the Stanley Cup 5 times, the last time in 1971/72, the Conference twice, and the Division 21 times.
