Fantasy soccer

There is a fantasy soccer game available for the Serie A.

Cagliari Calcio is an Italian football club based in the city of Cagliari in Sardinia. They currently feature in the Italian Serie A and have the scudetto only once in their history.

Cagliari were established on August 20, 1920 and could make their debut in the Italian Serie A in the 1964-1965 season. Their main player was the striker Luigi Riva, who is also the all time leading goalscorer for Italy. That season Cagliari finished in an incredible 7th position in the league.

Cagliari won the Italian Serie A in the 1969-1970 season losing just two matches, conceding 11 goals (the fewest in any major domestic league in Europe to date) and Italian legend Riva finished the season as top scorer.

However Cagliari then started on a decline and were relegated from the Serie A in 1976 but regained top flight status in 1979. But in the 1980s Cagliari fell apart and sank into Italian Serie C1 in 1987.

Three years later in 1990 Cagliari finally managed to climb back to the Serie A but continued with relegation and promotion.

In the 2003-2004 season Cagliari were enforced by a certain Gianfranco Zola and were promoted to the Serie A for the 2004-2005 season and have been playing in the top flight since.

Cagliari play their home matches at the Stadio Sant’Elia in Cagliari. The stadium has a capacity of 23,486.

Cagliari bear the nicknames the Rossoblu(Red-blues) and the Isolani (the Islanders).
