Giancarlo Carmona is a professional footballer from Peru who plays as a midfielder, specializing as a winger. Known for his great speed and strength, Carmona has always been popular amongst the fans. Carmona began his playing career at Alianza Atletico Sullana, in 2005. He was part of the team for 4 seasons but barely made over 10 substitute appearances, spending most of his time at the reserve team.
In 2008, he move to Universitario de Deportes in search of first team action and was immediately a star, scoring in his early days with the team. He played 42 games and has 4 goals over 2008 and 2009, becoming a regular member of the team. Carmona was instrumental in helping Universitario win the 2009 Primera Division Peruana title.
