Carlos Darwin Quintero Villalba is a professional footballer from Colombia who plays as a forward. Quintero pursued football from a young age and he was considered one of the brightest stars at the Deportes Tolima youth academy. In 2006, Quintero graduated from the youth team and became a part of the senior lineup. In 50-odd games for the senior team, Quintero scored 24 goals and became a star for the team.
Along with teammate Juan Carlos Escobar, Quintero moved to FC Krylia Sovetoc Samara in Russia however his size and style of play was not suited for the European game and he played just 11 games, scoring once. After one season in Russia, Quintero was back home and playing for Deportivo Pereira where he scored 13 goals in just 24 games.
This prolific ability to score caught the eye of Santos Laguna who decided to shell out about $4 million to get Quintero for the 2009 season. In his 23 games for the club so far, Quintero has scored 6 goals.
