Mesut Ozil is a Germany international football player of Turkish origin who currently features for the Spanish and European giants Real Madrid. He plays as an attacking midfielder and is often compared with French legend Zinedine Zidane.
Ozil commenced his professional club football career at Schalke in 2006 and played for them until January 2008 when he was signed by Werder Bremen for a reported fee of 4.3 million pounds on a contract that was to see him through until June 2011. However, his impressive performance saw Real Madrid swoop on in and sign him in the summer of 2010.
Ozil was impressive for Los Blancos right from the start and after helping them win the Copa del Rey in 2011, won La Liga in 2011-12. His style of play and world class vision to pick out his team-mates have established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.
Ozil made his international debut for Germany on February 11, 2009 against Norway in a friendly international match. He played in the 2010 World Cup finals and was one of the best players in the competition. Ozil also featured for Germany at Euro 2012.
