Philippe Mexes
Philippe Mexes is a France international footballer who currently plays for the Italian giants AC Milan. Mexes is a highly rated central defender and is reputed to be one of the best not only in Italy but in Europe.
Mexes commenced his professional career at French side AJ Auxerre in 1999 and after the end of the 2003-2004 season when his swelling reputation demanded a step up to a bigger club he signed for AS Roma for €7 million.
After a difficult first season in Roma, Mexes developed into one of the most vital players for Roma and firmly established at the heart of Roma’s defence. He scored 11 goals in 183 Serie A appearances for the Roman club and un the summer of 2011 he moved to AC Milan on a free transfer.
At Milan, though, Mexes has struggled to play regularly mainly because of injuries and has yet to cement his place in the starting lineup.
Mexes made his international debut for France in 2002 and has featured in over 25 games for his nation.
