Dominic Matteo is a former Scottish football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Stoke City. He plays as a defender.

Dominic Matteo started his professional club football at Merseyside giants Liverpool in 1992 and played impressively for them for eight years, scoring one goal in 129 Premier League appearances. He settled quite well into life at Liverpool.

Dominic Matteo moved to Leeds United in 2000 and played for them regularly for four years, scoring 2 goals in 115 Premier League matches. His first team debut for Leeds was against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League and endeared himself to the Leeds supporters. He became the captain of Leeds in 2002.

In 2004 Dominic Matteo was signed by Blackburn Rovers and he played for them or be it irregularly for them for three seasons, featuring in a mere 34 Premier League matches.

Dominic Matteo was signed by Stoke City in 2007 and he was more or less a regular for them. He was signed on a free transfer on a one-year contract by Stoke but at the end of the 2007-2008 season, he was handed a further one-year extension.

Dominic Matteo made his international debut for Scotland in 2000 and made 6 appearances for his national side between 2000 and 2002.
