A Brazilian midfielder, Leandro Chaves began playing football professionally in 2007, with Turkish football club Caykur Rizespor, where he remained till 2010. During this time he was loaned out to MKE Ankaraguccu, where he remained for one season and then moved back to Brazil to join Brazilian club Tigres do Brasil, but soon shifted to Duque de Caxiaz FC for the remaining season.
Chaves returned to Tigres do Brasil in 2010, but once again failed to settle down. He changed several clubs in the following seasons, including Ipatinga FC, Boavista Sporte Clube and Figueirense, where he arrived in 2011. On 15th September, 2011, Chaves was loaned out to Ceara from Figueirense, where he has remained since.
