Milton Raphael Guimaraes Pires is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a goalkeeper. After playing for the youth team at the local club, Volta Redonda, Raphael moved onto play for Botafogo, in the youth team. He joined the Botafogo youth academy in 2007, and for the next two years, built on his skill and ability as a player.
In 2009, Raphael was called up to the first team and became an integral part of the goalkeeping roster. As the third keeper on the team, Raphael battles for a place with Luis Guilherme, behind Jefferson and Renan who are the top two keepers on the team. His five year contract has already seen him be a part of the team that his lifted the 2008 Taca Rio title as well as the 2009 and 2010 Taca Guanabara titles.
