Leandro Fahel
Leandro Fahel Matos is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. Known to be an excellent covering midfielder on the defensive end of things, Leandro began his playing career America Futebol Clube, in 2003. After spending 2 years warming their benches, Fahel moved on to Maritimo, in 2005 and made just one appearance over the next season.
He was sent out on loan to Ipatinga, during that spell, and failed to get a single start there either.
Fahel, in search of regular football, moved to Cruzeiro in 2006. He went on loan to Pacos Ferreira in 2007, finally getting some regular playing time with 14 games under his belt and even a goal to his name. Upon his return, Cruzeiro decided against refreshing his contract and he was sold to Maritimo. In 2007, Fahel played the first half of the year at Maritimo and, after 17 games, was signed up by Beira-Mar for 2007-08. A regular starter for Beira-Mar, Fahel played 21 games and scored a goal onto becoming a known face in the Brazilian football scene.
He moved to Atletico Paranaense in2008, who sent him on loan after just three games. On loan to Goais Esporte Clube, Fahel shone through in 18 games, scoring 2 goals enroute.
He was immediately signed up by Villa Rio, who sent him out on loan to Botafogo for the 2009-10 season. In his 31 appearances for the team, Fahel helped Botafogo to the 2009 Taca Guanbara title, following which the club decided to sign him permanently. He went on to help them win the 2010 Taca Guanbara title, the 2010 Taca Rio title as well as the 2010 Carioca championships.
In 2011, Esporte Clube Bahia decided to come in and bring Fahel to their line-up. Fahel has been used sparingly at Bahia, making just 7 appearances and scoring a goal as well.
