Mamadou Sakho is a French football player who currently features for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. He plays as a centre-back and can also turn out as a left-back, and is also a France international.
Sakho is of Senegalese origin and started his footballing career at Paris FC when he was six years of age. In 2002 he moved to PSG to continue his development and was turned into a defender - he originally started as a striker.
In June 2007 Sakho signed his first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain after agreeing terms on a three-year deal, and was officially drafted into the PSG first team for the 2007-08 season.
Sakho has been with PSG ever since and has established himself as one of the more important players for the team.
Sakho made his international debut for France against England on November 17, 2010 and has played for his country from time to time.
