Ivan Jacinto Hurtado Angulo, or simply referred to as “Ivan Hurtado,” is a professional football player who is best known for being a central defender of Barcelona, as well as the captain of Ecuador’s national team. Currently, Hurtado is known as one of the country’s most capped male football players of all time.
Hurtado started his career playing in a small club in his hometown called Esmeraldas Petrolero. A year after playing the game, he was signed by one of the biggest clubs in Ecuador. While with the club, Hurtado showed off excellent prowess in the sport by executing two stellar seasons. This included two championships as a part of the club and was even memorable when he scored the championship goal via free kick.
Hurtado was soon after pursued by huge clubs, eventually playing in Spain’s La Liga as a member of Real Murcia. However, it was during his time playing in Pachuca, a club in Primera Division de Mexico that Hurtado was most successful. This opened many doors, which sparked rumors that numerous high profile clubs were highly interested in him.
