Luciano Fabian Monzon is a professional Argentine football player who is currently known for playing with Boca Juniors. Born on April 13, 1987 in Rosario, Argentina, Monzon started playing football when he was with the youth club of Boca Juniors, although the dates have not been specified.
He turned pro in 2008 and entered the first team of Boca Juniors. However, he was given out on loan to Real Betis from 2008 to 2009. The move happened after his performance winning the Olympic gold in 2008 as he was invited to be a part of the La Liga club for a reported 9 million Euros. Monzon’s first goal for Real Betis was during a game against FC Barcelona at Camp Nou, unfortunately Real Betis was defeated during the game.
After Monzon’s deal with Real Betis was completed on July 2009, he thereby returned to Boca Juniors to complete his deal. However, it was revealed that his wage was remarkably lower compared to that of the other Boca stars.
Since returning to Boca Juniors, Monzon has been attempting to sign transfers to other clubs and leagues. However, as of August 2010, he had 2 failed transfers, the first one was due to the condition of his heart, and the second failed transfer was due to payment method differences from the club Udinese of Serie A.
Monzon is also a part of the Argentina national team since 2009. However, he was already playing for the Under 23 national team since 2008. So far, since joining the national team, Monzon has appeared in 4 matches but has not yet scored since.
