The Cristiano Ronaldo circus has stretched on for almost eternity now. The deabte on whether he shall move on from Manchester United to Real Madrid this summer seems to have lost its full stop and the argument rages on.
The latest dose of this transfer shenanigan is as much amusing as audacious. Madrid based sports daily Marca, which is Real Madrid through and through, had already reported that Real are ready to pay Manchester United in excess of 50 million euros for the player and are also eager to pay Ronaldo 9 million euros per season.
Marca now comments that Manchester United would be willing to sell the 23-year old Portuguese international winger for their asking price 50 million euros only if Marid are ready to give them(Man United) Robinho, Mahamadou Diarra and Sergio Ramos!
All the three players are vital for Real Madrid and all of them played significant roles in the club’s back-to-back La Liga triumph. Robinho had his best season to-date in Spain in 2007-2008, Diarra has rediscovered his consistency and Ramos is arguably the best right back in Europe.
So letting the trio, who amount to a total sum of 90 million euros, go for one single player is not feasible and neither is it sane, even if the player in question be Cristiano Ronaldo.
But the way that Marca and Real Madrid have campainged for the player, they would well throw out the trio and take the gamble on Ronaldo.
