Nik Lentz was born in El Paso, Texas on August 13, 1984. He is a professional mixed martial artist and is currently signed on with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is 5’8” tall and weighs 155 lbs. to compete in the lightweight division.
Lentz had a wrestling background back when he was in high school. When he graduated and attended University of Minnesota, he got in with a wrestling scholarship. In 2005, Lentz started training in the sport of MMA. He trained specifically in Chinese martial arts under Luis Quiroz but then switched twice and finally settled on the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy.
His professional debut was up against Anthony White. Lentz was knocked out into the first round. His second match ended the same, but Lentz finally was able to display his talent in his third bout. He defeated Kenneth Allen to secure a 4-0 win but then met his first professional loss under the hands of Sherron Leggett. When Lentz entered the UFC, his professional record was at 16-3-1. Lentz made his UFC debut in August 2009 and won via unanimous decision over Rafaello Oliveira. While signed on with the UFC, Lentz earned three Fight of the Night post fight award bonuses. He won six of his last eight matches in the promotions and boasts of 7 wins via submissions and 9 out of TKO.
