Mamed Khalidov is a Polish mixed martial artist born on July 17, 1980. He was born in Russia and is competing under the middleweight division. At present, he is signed under KSW, a Polish mixed martial arts organization. He boasts of an undefeated record under KSW and is ranked 13th fighter in the world in his division by Fight Matrix. Khalidov is also the current champion in his division.
The polish fighter who was born in Chechnya in Russia began training in the art of Kyokushin at the age of 12. At 17, he went to Poland and continued practicing Kyokushin while adding other combat styles like boxing, Shotokan wrestling and Taekwondo. Later, he became interested in mixed martial arts and went on to train in grappling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Sambo and Muay Thai. By 2004, he began his professional career in mixed martial arts.
The devout Sunni Muslim fighter is nicknamed, “cannibal” and comes with both Russian and Polish citizenships. He stands 6 feet, comes with a 75-inch reach and had competed in both middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. His main styles of fighting include Muay Thai, submission wrestling, Kyokushin Karate and Shotokan Karate. He trains with the KSW Team and Arrachion MMA Fighters Team Olsztyn and boasts of black belts in Taekwondo and Kyokushin and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Aside from his championship belts under KSW, Khalidov also had other accomplishments in mixed martial arts like being a one-time middleweight champion under Full Contact Prestige and a winner in the 2007 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Polish Trials. Khalidov boasts of a mixed martial arts record of 37 fights with 31 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws.
