The American fighter was born on March 20, 1979 and is currently signed in under the Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC. He competes in the light heavyweight division and is currently the champion. As of October in 2015, the champion fighter is ranked number 8 in the pound-for-pound rankings by the UFC and number 6 in the world by Sherdog. He is ranked number 1 by UFC in the light heavyweight division. Cormier also comes with a heavyweight champion title under Strikeforce.
