Crease

The crease in hockey is just like the crease in any other game, including cricket. In hockey, the crease is the area of the hockey court that is marked clear by the lines on the rink. In another context, the term crease is also used to talk about the actual lines themselves, creases. In the hockey context, the crease is the red lines that make the semi-circle on the court; the crease lines on a hockey court create a six-foot radius in front of the goal on either side, and this is called the goal crease.
