In the game of hockey, an assist it is a credit is given to up to two players that had a hand in scoring a goal for the team. The last two players to touch the puck or have some hand and sending it to the team member who actually scored the goal will be given a credit of having made an assist in the game. There is also such a thing as a primary assist, in which the last player to touch the puck before passing it to the player who scored the goal is awarded the title of the primary assist. The secondary assist is awarded to the player before the primary assistant that passed the puck to the primary assistant in order to pass it to the player who scored the goal.
