Viktor Stalberg
Viktor Stalberg is a Swedish winger on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Stalberg was drafted in 2006 by the Toronto Maple Leafs after scoring 53 points and registering 89 penalty minutes in the Swedish J20 league with Frolunda. He came to North America to play college hockey at the University of Vermont the next season, and continued to improve his game through his junior year, when he scored 24 goals and 46 points. The next season, he was called up to the Leafs and earned great reviews with a fantastic preseason, but was injured with a concussion early in the season, and never fully got back into the groove with the struggling Leafs. He finished with 9 goals and 14 points in 40 games with the Leafs. In the 2010 offseason, he was traded to Chicago as part of the deal that sent Kris Versteeg to Toronto. He’ll get a chance to prove himself over again with the reigning Cup champs who have lost a number of players in the offseason.
